I left any sort of celebration planning to the very last minute as I actually wasn't keen on doing anything this year. In fact I was just planning to perhaps go to a quiet dinner with hubby but alas a few of my good friends were asking what I had planned and when I had said, "nothing really" - of course they objected and so plans were made.
Friday evening, a few girls and I went to the newly opened "Tigers Milk" in Century City for a girly dinner.

I had the Triple Bypass burger and yes it is enough to give anyone a heart attack because of its amazing yumminess! Who doesn't like a Cheese, Bacon and Mushroom burger - right?! I unfortunately didn't take a photo of all its amazingness as I was too busy getting stuck in right away.
Below is a photo of their food presentation. Isn't it cool?

I would definitely recommend it for after work drinks with the girls or grabbing a bite to eat with friends over the weekend.

Saturday morning, the morning of my birthday I was showered with love and gifts when I woke up. My boys really know how to make me feel special. I love them!
Kerry and Miguel had invited us to join them for wine tasting at the Anthonij Rupert Wine Festival on Saturday afternoon. They collected us around 11am on Saturday and we headed for Franschhoek.
We were blessed with an absolutely gorgeous day, which is a miracle as it ALWAYS rains on my birthday...not this day!
We spent the day tasting all the different wines from various wine farms, lazing under the trees and having great conversation while eating yummy cured meats, cheese and different breads.
My fav was definitely the peppadew and feta filled bread - no doubt that I am a girl that loves food!
From having absolutely no plans to having an amazing time with the people I love ~ what a great birthday!
